10 Best Indoor Waterparks in Minnesota

With 10,000+ lakes in Minnesota, you would guess that there is no shortage of outdoor water fun.  However, there are just so many months that we can enjoy the outdoor water fun.  For those rainy days or cold winter months where the kids are asking for some swimming fun, what better way to take them than to an indoor waterpark.  Minnesota does not disappoint with its indoor water fun option.

Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge is located in Bloomington. It features water slides, an indoor surf simulator, wave pool, lazy river, an interactive treehouse/ play area,  zero-depth pool and many more.  There are also many attractions on-site if you need a break from all the water activities.  This resort is located near the Mall of America making it the ideal place to stay for families.

Big Splash Minnesota Indoor Waterpark

Big Splash Minnesota Indoor Waterpark is located in Alexandria at the Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center.  It features 38,000 square feet of fun with three 4 story tall waterslides, a lazy river, whirlpool spa, children’s play fort, lily pad and many more.  There are also many attractions on-site if you need a break from all the water activities.  This indoor waterpark is included for guests of the resort and is offered to the general public with day passes.

Rapid River Lodge & Waterpark

Rapid River Lodge & Waterpark is located in Brainerd at the Comfort Suites.  It features water slides, waterfalls, activity pools with a tree fort, lazy river, a sauna, and hot tub.

Venetian Waterpark

Venetian Waterpark is located in Maple Grove at the Holiday Inn.  It features 25,000 square feet of fun with 2 4 story waterslides, zero-depth entry pool, an obstacle course, and basketball hoops.  Ideally located in Arbor Lakes, it is within minutes to the many attractions in the area.

The Lagoon 

The Lagoon is located in Welch at the Treasure Island Resort and Casino.  It features 2 water slides, a lazy river, and a zero-depth entry pool with a toucan slide for the little ones. This waterpark does offer day passes to non-registered guests. 

Three Bear Waterpark

Three Bear Waterpark is located in Baxter at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites.  It features water slides, hot tub, activity pools with basketball hoops, a zero-depth entry pool with slides for the little ones, and a lazy river. This waterpark does offer day passes to non-registered guests.

Paul Bunyan Indoor Waterpark

Paul Bunyan Indoor Waterpark is located in the Brainerd Lake area at the Arrowwood Lodge at Brainerd Lakes.  It features 30,000 square feet of fun with waterslides, zero-depth entry pool, hot tub, a lazy river, pool basketball hoops, large treehouse with water cannons, and log walk.  This waterpark does offer day passes to non-registered guests.

The Edge Waterpark

The Edge Waterpark is located in the Edgewater Hotel and Waterpark in Duluth.  It features 35,000 square feet of fun with water slides, a zero-depth entry pool with an interactive water playground, and a lazy river.  

Grove Cove Aquatic Center

Grove Cove Aquatic Center is located in Maple Grove.  It features a zero-depth beach area, water spray activities, a 130-foot waterslide, and a tot slide. It also has an outdoor waterpark that includes a lazy river, a zero-depth beach area, tumble buckets, log walk, tot slide, and water sprays.

Wild Woods Water Park 

Wild Woods Water Park is located in the Holiday Inn in Elk River.  It features three water slides, a lazy river, basketball water court, and a child’s play area.  

All these indoor waterparks are ideally located in areas where there are many things to do outside of swimming so there is definitely something for everyone there.

    Most people don’t think of Minnesota when they think of waterparks, due to the cold temps there, so it makes sense that indoor waterparks are popular. I never knew there were so many and I didn’t know Great Wolf Lodge had a location there.
