Have you ever dreamt about visiting Niagara Falls? I have always wanted to visit Niagara Falls ever since I was a little girl after watching Superman rescuing Lois Lang as she fell into the falls. Ahhhh… Childhood memories.
Anyways, I digress…..

But I am so excited to have finally had the chance to visit Niagara Falls with the boys. On the second stop of our ultimate family road trip, we arrived at Niagara Falls on the USA side in the early afternoon. Here is how we spent 2 days exploring Niagara Falls. If you missed our first stop, check it out here as we visited NYC.
Niagara Falls State Park
In planning for our trip to Niagara Falls, I did not plan on stopping on the US side. I had planned to go straight to the Canadian side. Fortunately for us, we had arrived early in the afternoon enough to be able to explore the US side before heading over to the Canadian side.

We stopped and explored the area and took in the sights. I am especially happy that we made time for this.

The hiking trails made for some beautiful hikes and memories.

Gotta have Family Selfie time right on Niagara Falls!

After an afternoon of exploring and fun, we stopped at Flip Burgers for some burgers and fries for the boys. Those burgers were massive but so good. We ended up packing the rest with us.
After dinner, we decided to cross the US – Canadian border to check into our home away from home for the next few days.
Where To Stay in Niagara Falls, Canada
Four Points By Sheraton Niagara Falls is conveniently located on the Fallsview Boulevard one block from Niagara’s famous Waterfalls and the Scotiabank Convention Centre, offering Niagara’s finest restaurants and attractions.
The hotel is connected to the Fallsview Casino and Niagara’s new 5000 seat Theater, Niagara Entertainment Center by an indoor walkway. It has four on-site restaurants, a Starbucks cafe as well as the Yuk Yuk Comedy Club and the Niagara Falls Fun Zone.
We had chosen to stay at this hotel because of all these plus the swimming pool for the boys.

Checking in was a breeze and we decided to get some rest before heading out for some more fun.
Niagara Falls, one of Earth’s natural wonders, is one of many great attractions to visit in Niagara Falls, Canada. The Falls are surrounded by some of the best attractions in Ontario, including Clifton Hill, Hornblower Boat cruise, Niagara Parks, Niagara Casinos, and more.
Fallsview Boulevard

There is no better place to stay while in Niagara Falls than on Fallsview Boulevard. It is the ultimate stay, play, and be amazed district in Niagara Falls. The heart of Niagara Falls, this area is a must-visit for every visitor to the area. Us staying on Fallsview Blvd gave us the advantage to be close to everything.

Fallsview Boulevard is the entertainment district with movie theatres like the famous IMAX and ultimate 3D/4D entertainment. Arcades and paintball await you at the Fun Zone. The Fallsview Casino Resort is the largest gaming resort facility in Canada. It boasts fine and casual dining restaurants, gaming fun for those 19+, shopping and vibrant live entertainment in the Avalon Ballroom. Regular live entertainment on the patio is a staple at Coco’s in the summer.

We ventured out to Niagara Falls to take in the sights. Such a beautiful evening to take a stroll down to Niagara Falls.

Hornblower Niagara Cruises
When in Niagara Falls the best way to experience the Falls is on the Hornblower Niagara Cruises. We had made advanced reservations for the Voyage To The Falls Boat Tour with the Funicular ride. The ultimate Niagara Falls Boat experience, it is the official and only boat tour in Niagara Falls, Canada.

We started our adventure with the Hornblower Funicular Ride down to the base of the beautiful Niagara Falls Gorge where we boarded the boat.

Upon arrival at the base, we were provided with a complimentary recyclable Mist Poncho and directed to board the boat. The ride is about 20 minutes providing us with a 360-degree view of the majestic falls. Up close and personal with the falls, one cannot help but enjoy the thundering roar, awesome power, and amazing mist of these natural wonders.

Oh be prepared to get wet! It is no fun any other way. We came to see the falls and that is what we are going to do 🙂

After our cruise, we made our way to Riverside Patio where we had some snacks and drinks. The Riverside Patio is a fully licensed outdoor space open for cruise guests all season long. It is the perfect spot to enjoy live music, sweet and savory culinary favorites, and BBQ items. While it was too early for lunch we did make sure we stopped for some snacks and drinks.
Zipline To The Falls
Okay, my 7-year-old was super excited to see the Zipline after we finished up with our boat cruise. Everywhere we have visited, he was too young to be allowed to experience it. Imagine his surprise when the minimum age said 7 years old. He was so ecstatic that we decided to get tickets. Fortunately, we had enough time to take a lunch break before our experience.
I was secretly scared to do the zipline but had to do it. The wait going up and waiting for our turn was about 30 minutes and every time we got closer to the top, I was more nervous. I can tell that my 9-year-old was nervous as well. But how is it the 7-year-old and his dad were so geeked out about it. I will never understand.

We did our little “we can do this” handshake and chant and off we went!

We made sure that we placed our sandals in the bag provided so we would not lose it somewhere down there.

And here we are all ready with our gear and take in the sights from up here. I will say I was a nervous wreck but so happy to have been pushed to do this by my 7-year-old! What an amazing experience!
Skylon Tower
If you want legendary views of Niagara Falls, the Skylon Tower is the place to be. The most famous Niagara Falls restaurant, The Skylon Tower offers two levels of fine dining ~ both at 775 feet above the falls. You have the choice of Summit Suite Buffet or the Revolving Dining Room.

We opted for the Revolving Dining Room. The Revolving Dining Room silently rotates 360 degrees every hour, giving us a constantly changing vantage point. It is estimated that more than 8,000 square km are viewable from the dining room. It really is the most breathtaking view in all of Niagara Falls.

The food was simply delicious along with the absolute best service we have encountered here at Niagara Falls.

After dinner, we went up to the observation deck for the most breath-taking views of Niagara Falls. This is the beautiful Niagara Falls looking onto the US side and as you can see on the top left the Rainbow Bridge crossing over to the Canadian side.

More breathtaking views of Niagara Falls with the amazing Clifton Hill.
Clifton Hill
Clifton Hill is Niagara Falls top destination for attractions, restaurants, entertainment and more! Located just one block away from the Niagara Horseshoe Falls, the Street of Fun is a must-visit for families, couples and sightseers.

Clifton Hill’s exciting array of attractions includes the latest and most exciting addition of the Niagara Speedway and the Niagara Skywheel, Canada’s Largest Giant wheel providing you with views like no other of Niagara Falls.

There is so much to see and do here at Clifton Hill. As we made our way through the world-famous Street of Fun by the Falls, we were able to enjoy an unforgettable experience like no other.

Niagara Falls At Night
Another great way to experience Niagara Falls is at night. While the views are breathtaking during the day with tons to do and see, experiencing the falls at night is like no other.

We decided to take a short walk from our hotel to the other side of the falls and rode the Falls Incline Railway. The Niagara Parks Incline Railway provides a fast & convenient link between the Fallsview Tourist area and Table Rock Center. Open year-round, fully accessible and climate-controlled, this attraction provided us a unique vantage point of the Horseshoe Falls as we rise and descend along the inclined track.

What a breathtaking view of Horseshoe Falls with all the beautiful lights! Perfect for the cool summer evening stroll.
An amazing 48 hours in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. We wished we had more time to explore but we had a jam-packed itinerary on our 11-day ultimate family road trip and we are off to our next stop.

What a great article! I love your table of contents and your images. I have never been to Niagara Falls, but have always wanted to go; this would be the perfect information to take with me to reference for my family. Thanks!
I enjoyed reading your post-Lina and it brings back memories to me. I have to go back there now that the kids are older. We never did ride the boat yet and the views when we went were foggy as it is during the wintertime. For the Canada side, we went to last year as it is only one hour away from here it is beautiful and I agree with you. The walking trails are nice to take a walk when you are not in a hurry. I wanna come back this year. Great read. Happy travels and take care.
Thank you April!
