Springtime in Minneapolis is like the long lost relative that finally came to visit. While the winter is beautiful and there are tons to do both indoor and outdoor, it can be long and arduous. Here are my picks to visit while in Minneapolis as the weather starts to get warmer.
1) Minneapolis Sculpture Garden
Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a sight to see! It is the largest urban sculpture garden in the world. It was recently fully reconstructed in 2016-2017. With the partnership of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and Walker Art Center, this beautiful garden unites the city’s rich resource of parks and culture. Located in the heart of Minneapolis, it sits on 11 acres and holds more than 40 pieces of artwork.

This is a must-see destination for visitors of all ages. One of the most famous and iconic pieces of artwork is the Spoonbridge and Cherry. It is said to be one of the most photographed
2) Minnehaha Falls
Fall in love with the falls here! You would not think to find such a beauty as this in a city like Minneapolis. This hidden gem is located in Minnehaha Regional Park, a city park on the shores of the Mississippi River. Here you will find picnic areas, trails, sculptures, and a 53-foot waterfall.
There are stairs that will take you to the gorge from either side of the fall. From there, you will find a trail that will take you to the Mississippi River which is about 1/2 mile long. This part is not paved so be sure to wear comfortable shoes if you choose to venture out that way. If not, you can choose to go back up the way you came down or cross the bridge and up the stairway. It is beautiful looking at the fall anywhere, whether you are standing on the bridge below or up at the top.

There is the Minnehaha Falls Pergola Garden that you would want to visit. This garden has a variety of Native American plants including trees, shrubs, and a variety of both woodland and prairie plants.
Another fun thing to do here is renting a surrey and ride through the park. This is always our family’s favorite when we visit here!
3) Saint Anthony Falls
Another fall to visit is Saint Anthony Falls. It is located northeast of downtown Minneapolis and was the only natural major waterfall in the Upper Mississippi River. You can view this falls while taking a stroll on the Stone Arch Bridge.

4) Stone Arch Bridge
The Stone Arch Bridge is a historic monument that spans across the Mississippi River. It was originally used as a railroad that was the way to bring goods across the river. It is now a scenic route used mostly by pedestrians and bicyclists. Walking on this bridge will give you an awesome view of Saint Anthony Falls and downtown Minneapolis.

5) Mill City Museum
Come visit this National Historic Landmark and learn about how one product, flour, fueled the city’s growth along the riverfront. The birthplace of Minneapolis. Built within the ruins of once the largest flour mill in the world, Mill City Museum is packed with so much history and fun for all ages.

6) Twins Games at the Target Field
Experience a baseball game at the Target Field. The energy is always so fun at these games. We love going out in the summer evenings to watch a Twins game.

7) Bike Ride With Nice Ride
Minneapolis has some of the best bike trails around. Minneapolis also has Nice Ride where you can rent a bike for 30 minutes increments and get around town or a leisurely ride on one of their bike trails. Please check out their website here for more information.

8) Midtown Global Market
If you would like a global experience, what better place to be at than the Midtown Global Market. This is an internationally-themed public market that has a wide array of food, cultural experiences, and gifts. With 18 restaurants and specialty food vendors, there is something for everyone’s palate. Along with the various vendors that sell their beautifully crafted items, the market holds fun events.

9) Nicollet Mall
The heart of downtown Minneapolis, Nicollet Mall is a 12 block stretch of shopping, department stores, restaurants, and theaters. It had recently undergone a comprehensive remodel that enhanced the experience of the visitors, workers, and the growing residential population. This mile-long stretch prohibits motor vehicles except for buses and light rails allow for a pedestrian-friendly oasis.

10) Minneapolis Skyway System
The Minneapolis Skyway System deserves its own spot of what to visit here. Located in downtown Minneapolis, it is the largest, adjoining system of enclosed, second level bridges in the world. It spans 9.5 miles connecting 80 city blocks. The Minneapolis Skyway System offers a climate-controlled walk for any weather.

There are so many things you will see and access here. From shopping to restaurants to people getting to and from work. You can get happily lost in here.

I’ve only been to Minneapolis once, and it was a quick visit. The only noteworthy place we had time to visit was the Mall of America. I’d like to return someday to visit the places on your list. They look amazing!
